Meeting called to order.
Regrets that Senator Werk could not attend - Senator Werk was not able to attend due to the Legislature still being in session. Decided to reissue the invitation for the May 19 Senate meeting.
Budget Report:Lisa Clements reported on the latest ACE budget balances.
Follow-up on ACE General Meeting and Luncheon - Carol Bugni reported on the General Meeting and Luncheon. The speaker was excellent. There was a large crowd and the potato bar food lines were not too long, although people were directed to the west set of serving tables when the food ran out at the other tables. Some of the food was gone before the last people in line went through. The cost was $2,117.40 plus the cost of equipment; $614.00 was deposited; therefore, the cost to ACE was $1,503.
Next year have the photographer take some pictures of the crowd. Carol is also working on setting up the date for the May 2010 General Meeting and Luncheon.
Stolen money and gift card - Carol Bugni reported that personal money and the gift card for the ACE Outstanding Classified Employee (OCE) was stolen out of her office. A report was filed with the police; however, the $150 gift card was used almost immediately after the robbery. The ACE Senate agreed that another gift card should be obtained for the OCE recipient.
Follow-up on April 18 "Into the Streets" - This community service event was successful, according to Claude Sheffield who participated in it; however, very few classified employees attended.
May 6 Benefits Fair - Final preparations were made for the ACE booth at the Fair. Linda Burnett will email a request to the Senate members for volunteers to work at the booth. Carol Bugni will purchase the door prize that ACE is donating.
ACE brochure and banner update - The banner was displayed at the meeting, and it looks great. The brochures are in the final stages of revision and will be ready in time to hand out at the Benefits Fair.
Committee Reports - Emeritus Committee - The application for emeritus status for Carol Carroll was approved. The Senate also discussed continuing issues with regard to emeritus status for employees transferring to CWI.
Student Fees Budget Committee: BSU requested the lowest increase in student fees out of the other Idaho universities.
Note: The Recreation Center is pushing forward with building the new swimming pool.
Meeting was adjourned.
