The following video clips are from a DVD entitled “How to Collect and Dissect Gut Fungi” Version 1, Copyright 2007 by Merlin White. The DVD and video clips first were released at the Mycological Society of America Annual Meeting August 5-9, 2007 in Baton Rouge, LA.

These videos are intended to provide some background information on the Trichomycetes but are especially geared toward those whom would like to know more about the collection of aquatic insects and the process of dissecting and identifying gut fungi. More videos will be added as they are developed and some of these videos will be updated based on suggestions, which are welcome. To view each video, click the link and either open or save to view with Windows Media Player.

The videos may be used freely as a teaching aid or in your classes or personal use but are not intended for mass reproduction or profit. This effort was funded in part by a National Science Foundation Award (DEB-0344722) to Drs. Merlin White and Robert Lichtwardt (U. of Kansas). Any opinions, findings and conclusions or recommendations expressed in this material are those of the author and do not necessarily reflect the views of the National Science Foundation.
