Bioinformatics and computational Biology is one of the hottest scientific areas nationally and internationally. The field has recently grown out of traditional fields of health informatics, biostatistics, molecular biology and genetics. My research is currently engaged in an abroad area of bioinformatics and computational biology including, but not limited to, algorithm developments for genome annotations, protein function analyses, protein structural analyses, and comparative genome analyses. The research involves in both infectious and non-infectious diseases, touching every aspect of human life. A graduate research assistantship is available for motivated students to pursue the M.S. degree in the areas of Bioinformatics. The requirements are:
The graduate assistantships are highly competitive. Interested applicants should contact Dr. Yu at gongxinyu@boisestate.edu for more details. Boise State is a growing institution (>18,000 students) serving Idaho's metropolitan center. As the state's capital and business, financial and cultural center, Boise is consistently recognized as one of America's best places to live. A favorable cost of living, coupled with moderate climate and a wide variety of cultural and recreational opportunities, contribute to an outstanding quality of life for our faculty. |
