Regardless of the program you are considering or where you plan to take your courses, the Student Services office is here to help you get started at Boise State University. Located in room 124, you will find convenient one-stop assistance for admission, educational advising and registration. You may schedule an appointment for any of these services by calling 208.562-2100 or you can come in anytime during our open hours.

Additionally, at the Canyon County Center you can pay application and enrollment fees, pay your student fees, order official transcripts, file graduation applications and pick up and/or purchase student and guest tickets for Boise State football games. REMEMBER you do NOT have to drive to Boise for these services. They're all available for you in Canyon County!
Student Support Services
Admission to Applied Technology Programs: Educational Advisors are available to assist you in meeting the admission requirements to be accepted into any of the programs in the Selland College of Applied Technology. Of the 29 programs available, seven are available at the Canyon County Center. They are: Business Technology, Office Occupations, Practical Nursing, Industrial Maintenance Technology, Refrigeration, Heating and Air Conditioning, Computer Network Technology, and Professional Truck Driving. The Electrical Lineworker program is located in Meridian. If you don't know what kind of classes you want to take, you are encouraged to make an appointment to see an educational advisor.

Educational Advising
Many students know what program they are interested in but need some help to review their basic skills or to select the right classes. Educational advisors are available to assist you in meeting admission requirements, applying for financial aid, reviewing basic skills or helping you select the program that best fits your skills and needs. Call 562-2100 to schedule an appointment.
Registration for Applied Technology Students
Students now register for their classes online via BroncoWeb! Once you are admitted to Boise State, you are assigned a date and time to register. At that time, you simply log on and register for the courses you have selected. If you do not have access to the Internet, or you would like assistance in registering, you may go to one of the computer labs at the Canyon County Campus (see location and hours below), and someone will assist you.

New Student Orientation For Applied Technology Students
There is so much to know about going to college! Prior to the beginning of each semester, the Canyon County Center hosts orientations for new students. During orientation, you will learn what classes to take, receive instructions on how to register over BroncoWeb, learn how to read the catalog, etc. In addition, the staff will provide information about financial aid, how to purchase textbooks, and provide you with valuable information that will help you have a successful collegiate experience. Center for New Directions
If you are a single parent, displaced homemaker or an individual in transition, the Center for New Directions is available with a variety of services designed to assist you in getting on the right path for your work and/or educational success. Clients may benefit from individual career or educational counseling, assistance with "back to school" processes, or various non-credit classes and workshops designed to address barriers and provide skills needed for success in training and employment. Academic Support Services
Electronic resources from Boise State University Albertsons Library may be accessed via computers in the Student Services Office, Room 124. Electronic resources include many databases that contain the full-text of periodical articles. There is also a small collection of reference books near those computers. To access a catalog of BSU library materials go to: http://library.boisestate.edu . Library materials from Albertsons Library may be requested via e-mail, fax, or the distance students'page: http://library.boisestate.edu/distance . Requested materials are checked out to the student by Library staff prior to being sent to the Student Services office at the Canyon County Center. These materials may be returned to Student Services, the Main Campus Library, or the West Campus Library. Students with a Boise State University ID card may also use the libraries at Northwest Nazarene University and Albertson College of Idaho.
Tutoring
Tutorial services and an open computer lab are provided to students currently enrolled at Boise State University. Tutorial support is primarily offered for the applied technology and academic classes taught at the Canyon County Center, including math, writing, and science drop-in-tutoring. Group tutoring is also provided, based on individual course needs and demands. There is no charge for tutoring in the drop-in lab (room 117) or for authorized tutor-led study groups.
In addition, the lab contains 12- MPC Pentium 4 computers, an HP laser printer and scanner for enrolled student use. Tutors/lab monitors can provide support for many commonly used computer programs. For more information, please stop by Rm. 117 or call 208.562.2018.

Assessment
Assessment services include:
- COMPASS Basic Skills Assessment for placement into College of Applied Technology programs and academic math, English, chemistry and computer science classes
- GED (General Equivalency Diploma) testing
- TABE (Test of Adult Basic Education) assessment
- Nurse Admission Test (NAT) assessment
- Modern Languages and Literatures (MLL) placement tests for Spanish, French and German
- Proctoring of tests for correspondence classes
- Testing takes place at specific times, and all of the tests require a current state-issued photo identification (driver's license) be presented prior to testing. In addition, except for the TABE test, all of the tests have fees associated with them that must be paid with cash, a voucher or a money order prior to the start of testing.

GED Preparation and Testing
The Canyon County Center offers the complete GED (General Education Diploma) program, as well as courses to improve your basic skills in math, reading, or writing. Resources are available at no charge. Contact us at 562-2100 or via e-mail at CanyonCounty@boisestate.edu
Bookstore
The Bookstore carries textbooks for classes at the Canyon County Center, academic supplies, as well as snacks and refreshments. Textbooks are also available for purchase on the website and can be delivered to the West Campus Bookstore for pickup.
