James Maguire
Associate Vice President
for Planning & Facilities
James Maguire received his master's in architecture from the University
of California, Berkeley, and double bachelors in fine arts and architecture
from the Rhode Island School of Design. He is a licensed architect in
California and is registered with the NCARB (National Council of Architectural
Registration Boards).
At Boise State, his areas of responsibility include facilities operations
and maintenance; public safety, risk management and transportation;
facilities planning and design, architectural and engineering services
and space planning. He also chairs the Facilities Planning Council.
Maguire most recently served as the director of capital program implementation
for the University of California Office of the President, in Oakland,
Calif.
In this capacity and in his previous position of associate director
of State Capital Program Development, Maguire managed and coordinated
the planning and development of all state-funded capital projects across
the 10 campuses of the university system.
He was also responsible for interactions with numerous state agencies
related to securing and implementing approximately $1.2 billion in special
lease revenue bond financing. While in this position, Maguire served
as a member of the university-wide working group that crafted the regents
policy for "green building"® and sustainable development.
