- The Genevan Book of Order - the "rule book" for Calvinists. Among other things, have a look at the section on marriage. Sound familiar?
- Sermon on Threefold Righteousness, by Martin Luther. A good example of Martin Luther's preaching, and a good example in general of how plain and direct Protestant sermons could be.
