Course Requirements

Two books are required to purchase. Both are paperback and often used copies can be had. I've tried to keep expenses as low as possible.

You will need an Internet connection and a web browser. My site is compliant with W3C standards, so it will display quickly and reliably in just about any browser out there. I've got pictures scattered about, and some of these are a bit large (~1Mb), but the site is still quick even at a 33k connection speed. I know because I've tested at that speed.

An email account is required. Since an email account is issued to anyone admitted to Boise State, this should not be a problem.

Prerequisites

You need to have taken HIST101 (not 102, despite what the catalog may say). Ideally you have taken another course from me, so you are familiar with the idiocyncrasies of my online teaching style. In general, though, the more self-directed you are, the better you will do.

It would also be good if you have written a long paper before. The dynamics and discipline required to write a 30 page paper are different than for short papers. This is not, however, a prerequisite, only a recommendation.
