This site is my own work, though not all materials here were produced by me. I have tried to give credit for all images and documents (see below). If you know that any of the crediting is incorrect, please let me know. If I have used something that is yours and you don't want me to, let me know.
Don't Copy My Files
You are welcome to make links into my site. I do not want you to copy my material to your own site, however. I am constantly editing and revising, and I do not want old versions of my essays floating around the Internet.
Don't Frame My Site
While I welcome links into my material, I ask that you not place my content in frames. Doing so makes my work look like it belongs to your site, which it emphatically does not.
Cite Your Sources
If you use my material in your own writing, give standard scholarly credit.
Students often want to know the date of publication of a particular page. Since everything is potentially under revision, I find this requirement by teachers wrong-headed. But, if you gotta have a date, use 1997. Much is newer, some is older, but all they need is a date, so there you go.
