The purpose of this Calendar for Department Chairs is to serve as an overview of the kinds of activities that Chairs can expect to be engaged in throughout the year. In particular, it provides Due Dates for cyclical activities for which Department Chairs will be expected to produce and submit materials. In many cases, requests for materials are routed through the Provost or Dean; these dates are also included.

In addition to the Due Dates, there are also Suggested Activities listed for each month. Together with the Due Dates, they provide a broad picture of how Department Chairs might focus their time and energy throughout the year.

This calendar does not replicate the academic calendar already available online and does not take the place of direct requests that Chairs will receive regarding these and other university activities.
