A CBMM course provides all course content, via a CD-Rom disk using audio, video, and text files. Developed by Virtual Education Software, Inc., a CBMM course provides instruction on strategies for teaching students with special behavioral and learning needs.
A CBMM course has no in-person meetings. There is no course information on Blackboard.
After installing the course compact disk into a personal computer, the course begins with basic start-up information. The course is set-up like a book with chapters and multiple choice exams. Students write essays in response to critical thinking questions and a review of journal articles. A detailed course syllabus provides student expectations.
No. All course work must be completed on the same computer used to initiate the program.
Do not panic or feel that you are getting behind. Materials are sent to students on the first day of the session and delivery may take up to four days. Materials are sent from Spokane, Washington via the U.S. mail. To ensure delivery, students should confirm that their mailing address is up-to-date in BroncoWeb.
An "Orientation Email" is sent before classes begin to your BroncoMail account. This email will provide great instructions about the course and should be printed for reference later. Students may contact the instructor using the email address on course syllabus.
To view a complete listing of CBMM courses for this semester, navigate to the Current Course Table; to view courses for next semester, navigate to the Coming Course Table.
During the fall and spring semesters, they are offered once in the first 8-week session and repeated in the second 8-week session. In summer semester, they are offered once in the first 5-week session repeated in the second 5-week session. Semester dates and deadlines.
No. CBMM courses are cross-listed with different academic departments, but have the same course title. It is the student’s responsibility to avoid enrolling in the same course twice. Students who do enroll in the same course are alerted of their error via BroncoMail. Check your unofficial transcript on BroncoWeb to view previous CBMM courses completed.
The answer depends on what type of credit you want to receive for the course. CBMM courses are offered for both professional education and academic credit. It is important to become admitted appropriately, for your needs, to the University.
To earn Professional Education credit, complete and submit this admission form.
To earn Graduate Academic credit, complete and submit the admission form.
To earn Undergraduate Academic credit, complete and submit the admission form.
After your application has been processed, you will receive a letter explaining your admission status and how to enroll in the course.
Students admitted to Boise State (see previous question), will receive information on how to enroll for a course using their BroncoWeb account. If you have never attended Boise State before, contact the New Student and Family Programs Office for an orientation.
Returning students or students receiving professional education credit, should view their BroncoWeb account for their registration appointment.
BroncoWeb is a user-friendly registration system that provides information on classes, including descriptions, credit hours, technology requirements, etc. When you access BroncoWeb, you have the ability to change your personal information (address and telephone number), view your semester class schedule, view your student financial account, and pay your tuition and fees - all online.
VESi courses write small text files to your hard drive to keep track of your student information, exam scores and progress through the course. The reasons you may not see previous work include:
You must view every screen in a chapter before you can access the exam. Click on course link. You will need an asterisk next to each topic before moving into an exam.
After you are finished writing your essays, click on Save. Do not click on Save As and specify a name or path for the file; the program will not be able to read it back in or print out at the end of class. If you changed location of file during save, you must search for file and print.
At the bottom of the evaluation form there is a “View Doc before Printing” checkbox. Checking this box will sometimes force the certificate to print. If you try this twice and still have no success, please contact VESi tech support a 1.800.313.6744.
Send essays and certificate of completion to Virtual Education Software Inc., at 16201 East Indiana Ave., Suite 1450, Spokane, WA 99216.
Use the Tab key to enter and exit the fields rather than pointing and clicking with the mouse.
