Are there in-person meetings or a Blackboard site for the course?

No in-person meetings. No course information on Blackboard. All course content provided online through a unique computer program. Students will receive instructions and course links in their Boise State email accounts.

How are these courses designed?

After you receive your login account, in an email, your online class is conducted in chapters and multiple choice exams. Students write essays in response to critical thinking questions and a review of journal articles. A detailed course syllabus provides student expectations.

Can these courses be accessed from more than one computer?

Yes. One advantage to Internet classes is that all course work is securely stored on computer servers and can be accessed from any computer connected to the Internet.

It is the first day of the semester session, but I have not received an email from VESi with instructions or Web link to courses. What do I do?

An instructional email is sent out to students on or after the first day of class with instructions on how to access the course. Students should confirm they have access to and have checked their Boise State issued email account on BroncoMail. Students should Contact Us if they have not received an instructional email within two days after session begins.

What courses are being offered this semester and next?

How often are these courses offered?

During the fall and spring semesters, they are offered once in the first 8-week session and repeated in the second 8-week session. In summer semester, they are offered once in the first 5-week session repeated in the second 5-week session. Semester dates and deadlines.

Am I allowed to take the same course more than once?

No. These courses are cross-listed with different academic departments, but have the same course title. It is the student’s responsibility to avoid enrolling in the same course twice. Students who do enroll in the same course are alerted of their error via BroncoMail. Check your unofficial transcript on BroncoWeb to view previous VESi courses completed.

How do I register for one of these courses (Professional Education credit or Academic credit)?

The answer depends on what type of credit you want to receive for the course. These courses are offered for both professional education and academic credit. It is important to become admitted appropriately, for your needs, to the University.

To earn Professional Education credit, complete and submit this admission form.

To earn Graduate Academic credit, complete and submit the admission form.

To earn Undergraduate Academic credit, complete and submit the admission form.

After your application has been processed, you will receive a letter explaining your admission status and how to enroll in the course.

How do I enroll for a course?

Students admitted to Boise State (see previous question), will receive information on how to enroll for a course using their BroncoWeb account. The BroncoWeb Help Documentation page provides detailed instruction on a variety of actions students can take such as adding, dropping, or paying for a course. If you have never attended Boise State before, contact the New Student and Family Programs Office for an orientation.

Returning students or students receiving professional education credit, should view their BroncoWeb account for their enrollment appointment.

What is BroncoWeb?

BroncoWeb is a user-friendly registration system that provides information on classes, including descriptions, credit hours, technology requirements, etc. When you access BroncoWeb, you have the ability to change your personal information (address and telephone number), view your semester class schedule, view your student financial account, and pay your tuition and fees - all online.

I can’t access exams.

You must view every screen in a chapter before you can access the exam. Click on course link. You will need an asterisk next to each topic before moving into an exam.
