Technology Accentuated Transformative Education for Rural Specialists (TATERS)

The Technology Accentuated Transformative Education for Rural Specialists (TATERS) program is based in the Department of Special Education and Early Childhood Studies at Boise State University. The program centers around two outcomes:

  1. To prepare special education teachers to work in rural areas of Idaho serving children with high incidence disabilities
  2. To support rural districts in building capacity for stronger mentorship and induction programs for new special education teachers.

TATERS is for candidates who already have a bachelor’s degree and want to become certified in special education in Idaho, or for certified teachers who want to add an endorsement in special education in Idaho. Students in this program do not receive a degree or certificate from Boise State University. Upon completion, students are qualified for special education teacher certification from the State of Idaho.

For more information, visit the TATERS Web site.
