Telecourse classes blend home viewing of nationally pre-produced educational program broadcasts in 13 one-hour segments on Idaho Public Television with either 6 required in-person class meetings or 13 required labs.
Course orientation is provided during the first class meeting on the first day of class. The orientation includes discussion of the class syllabus, broadcast dates and times, class meeting dates, and overall course requirements.
For the remainder of the semester, students independently view one-hour per week of television programming over 13 weekends, attend scheduled meetings, read the textbook, complete and turn in assignments, and take tests as required. Programming consists of two half-hour or a single one-hour broadcast segment each week. If students choose to record the broadcast for later viewing, the tape must be viewed before the next regularly scheduled broadcast to keep up with the class material. Copies of broadcast videos are available in the Albertsons Library at the Reserve Desk, where students with a valid student ID card may view them. The videos may not be checked out of the Center.
Coursework includes textbook readings, assignments, and tests.
