About EPI About EPI As a part of CAES, The Energy Policy Institute (EPI) is made up of policy researchers and educators from the four CAES institutions. In conducting its work, EPI will consider a diverse set of perspectives so that its products and services are of the highest quality. Its goal is to conduct applied energy policy research and education that will result in robust policy solutions and economic opportunities for tomorrow’s citizenry.
About CAES The Center for Advanced Energy Studies (CAES) was founded in January of 2006. CAES is a public/private partnership comprised of three Idaho public Universities, (Boise State University, University of Idaho, and Idaho State University), the Idaho National Laboratory, as well as private industry. CAES integrates resources, capabilities, and expertise to create new research capabilities, expand researcher to researcher collaborations, and enhance energy related educational opportunities.
EPI Supports Education on Policy and Energy The Energy Policy Institute understands the importance of ongoing education on the myriad of issues that intersect energy policy concerns. As such, many members of the EPI team teach courses ranging from project management to environmental policy at EPI’s host institution, Boise State University. All three of the institutions affiliated with the Center for Advanced Energy Studies (CAES) offer courses in energy and policy to facilitate informed discussions.
