About Boise State University

back to Home

Located in Idaho's center of government and enterprise, Boise State University provides a stimulating educational environment, as well as cultural, recreational, and professional opportunities for students.

The campus is situated along the banks of the Boise River, just a few minutes walk from downtown Boise.

Founded in 1932 as a private community college, the school was granted four-year status as Boise College in 1965, then entered the state system of higher education, and in 1974 was renamed Boise State University. Today, Boise State offers numerous Master's degrees and two degrees at the doctoral level. The University's student enrollment is the largest in Idaho.

The New Student Information Center (208-426-1820) is open throughout the year to anyone who desires information on admission, housing, financial aid, and special programs.
