The major texts, as in any workshop, are the poems turned in by the students. We will read, in addition, a variety of contemporary books in a range of aesthetic styles—including books by some of the visiting poets who will come to campus this year. Students will present work from the books, and discussion during the first half of the class will focus upon poetics, with an eye towards developing each individual's personal poetics. Workshop will take place in the latter half of the class.
