Teaching Philosophy

I believe that it is the responsibility of all students—especially graduate students—to contribute to the knowledge constructed by a class. It is my responsibility or role to provide information and ideas, and to create and facilitate classroom activities and assignments, to encourage students to:

  • More clearly envision themselves as English teachers
  • More completely prepare themselves to teach English to adolescents
To challenge themselves to critique their assumptions and expand their horizon of possibilities in order to foster their further learning and professional development.
