NCLEX RN Exam Preparation

Increase your readiness for taking and passing the NCLEX RN Exam

This course uses lecture, activities, and sample questions to prepare graduates to successfully pass the National Council of Licensure Examination (NCLEX) for Registered Nurses.

The major patient care topics will include:

  • Safe and Effective Care Environment
  • Management of Care
  • Safety and Infection Control
  • Health Promotion and Maintenance
  • Psychosocial Integrity
  • Physiological Integrity
  • Basic Care and Comfort
  • Pharmacological and Parenteral Therapies
  • Reduction of Risk Potential
  • Physiological Adaptation

Expected Outcomes:

At the conclusion of the course, the student will have an individualized test plan to help ensure NCLEX success and avoid common preparation mistakes made by other candidates.

Presenter:

Michael Vallez, MS, RN, NP-C Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Nursing.

Professor Vallez has worked over 20 years in Level One trauma centers throughout the country and has completed 3 trips abroad to improve health care to indigenous people. Mr. Vallez received his RN from Piles Peak Community College. He then received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Master of Science with a specialization in Adult Nurse Practitioner from the University of Maryland.

For over 8 years, Mr. Vallez has prepared graduate nurses for a national NCLEX through his work with a NCLEX review company. He is a 2004 recipient of the Clinical Fellowship in Hepatology by American Association of the Study of Liver Disease and is working with area providers to ensure the best liver care is provided to all Idaho patients.
