How To Register

Once you are admitted to Boise State, have your appointment time, username and password, go to broncoweb.boisestate.edu and log in.

  • Click "Student Center"
  • Click "Enroll"
  • Click "Spring 2012"
  • Under "Session" choose "Intersession"
  • Choose one other search criteria or click "Show Open Classes Only" to see all intersession classes

Follow the steps for registering. When you are finished, print a copy of your schedule.

Earn credits AND still get a week off for the holiday season.

Boise State's Intersession is a condensed, three-week format, offering a select number of day and evening classes that fulfill degree requirements in a variety of colleges.

With the flexibility of Intersession you can:

  • Earn credits needed for graduation.
  • Take three credits in a condensed timeframe – most classes run about three hours a day for 14 days.
  • Concentrate on one subject and finish in three weeks.
  • Take classes that might otherwise be full.
  • Take unique courses and workshops that are not available in other semesters.

How to Enroll for Winter Intersession

1. Apply for Admission

The first step to becoming an Intersession student at Boise State University is to apply.
NOTE: If you attended Boise State during the Summer of 2010 or later, you do not need to reapply.

If you need to apply, see the following information.

• For Undergraduate Admissions — Visit admissions.boisestate.edu/apply/

(For students taking undergraduate-level courses either as a degree-seeking or non-degree student. Call (208) 426-1156 or toll-free (800) 824-7017 #1 if you have questions about the Undergraduate Admissions application.)

  • Degree-seeking Students (only students who will continue into Spring and who plan to earn a degree should appy as degree-seeking):
    • Click "Degree-seeking Applicant" link for options
    • Click "Online Web Application"
    • Check "Spring 2012 Semester" on the application
    • Or if preferred, you may click "Application for Undergraduate Admission" to download, print and mail in an application form.
  • Nondegree-seeking Students:
    • Click "Not Seeking a Degree" link for options
    • Click "Online Web Application"
    • Check "Spring 2012 Semester" on the application
    • Check "Not Seeking Degree or Certificate" on the application
    • If preferred, you may click "Application for Undergraduate Admission" to download, print and mail in an application form.

• For Graduate Admissions – Visit www.boisestate.edu/gradcoll/

(For students who have a bachelor’s degree and want to take undergraduate or graduate-level courses. Call (208) 426-3903 if you have questions about the Graduate Admissions application.)

  • Graduate Students:
    • Click "Apply Online" link for instructions
    • Check "Spring 2012 Semester" on the application
    • Or if preferred, you can also print out a copy to mail or fax.

Graduates taking only Workshops can apply through Extended Studies, (208) 426-1709, and register via BroncoWeb.

 

Application Fee

All applications must be submitted with a one-time, nonrefundable application fee of $50 for undergraduate non-degree, $50 for undergraduate degree-seeking and $55 for applicants wishing to take graduate level courses. Once your application has been processed, you will be notified of when you can register for classes. You will also receive a username, which will allow you to register on the Internet.

 

2. Register for Winter Intersession when you register for Spring 2012, starting October 24, 2011.

Once you are admitted to Boise State, have an appointment time, have your username, set your password, and have selected the classes you want, the next step is to register on BroncoWeb. You may register online from any Internet-connected computer.

Go to broncoweb.boisestate.edu and log in to “BroncoWeb.”

  • Click "Student Center"
  • Click "Enroll"
  • Click "Spring 2012"
  • Under "Sessions" choose "Intersession"
  • Choose one other search criteria or click "Show Open Classes Only" to see all intersession classes
  • Follow the steps for registering and when you are finished, print a copy of your schedule

3. Pay Fees

The fee for Intersession is figured on a per-credit-hour basis, and there is no additional nonresident fee. Please note that some courses have extra fees (lab, workshop, telecommunication) in addition to regular per-credit course fees. Please check the course schedule and verify fees at your time of registration.

IMPORTANT FEE Policy

Once you register for classes, you remain registered and are responsible for the fees and grades for these classes unless you cancel your registration. If you decide not to attend any classes, you must drop all of them through BroncoWeb before midnight on the day listed above. If you do not cancel your registration or pay your fees by the fee payment deadline, you will remain registered, you will be charged course fees, and you will be assessed a $50 late penalty.

NOTE: If your tuition, fees or other charges remain unpaid, you may be sent to an outside collection agency and will be responsible for any additional collection costs.

 


4. Pay Your Bill

Students may pay their bills online by BroncoWeb, by phone, in person, or by mail:

Payments are due by midnight if made on BroncoWeb. All other payment methods must be done during regular office hours.

  • All checks returned from the bank are charged a $15 processing fee.
  • Audit and Credit fees are the same.
  • Fees are subject to change without notice.
  • Faculty, Staff and Senior Citizen waivers are acceptable; waivers will not be accepted for special fees, professional education/inservice and some educational/instructional classes.
  • After the beginning of Intersession, all workshop fees are due at the time you register for the workshop.
  • Division of Extended Studies does NOT accept cash payments.

Policy For Refunds

Intersession fees are refunded on the following basis, including fees and special fees
NOTE: Federal financial aid recipients may be subject to alternate refund calculations as specified by federal law.
It is the responsibility of the student to become aware of the refund policy of Boise State University. Please refer to the Student Financial Services web site.

Workshop Refunds (classes with catalog numbers 294/494/594/599)
100% refund if workshop is dropped the day before the first class.

All complete withdrawals from the University are subject to a $40 processing fee.

To Drop, Add, or withdraw

The responsibility for properly adding or dropping classes and/or withdrawing from the University rests solely with the student. Failure to observe proper procedures will result in the student receiving a failing grade. Process through BroncoWeb.

  • Withdrawing from all Intersession classes is processed by the student by dropping all classes through BroncoWeb. For assistance call 426-BWEB (208) 426-2932.
  • Students may not withdraw from classes and workshops after they have ended.
  • All complete withdrawals from the University are subject to a $40 processing fee.

How to Get an Advisor

We strongly recommend that you meet with an advisor and review your course schedule.
To find an academic advisor, call the department of your major or the Gateway Center for Academic Support,
(208) 426-4049 (2055 University Dr.), 8:00 am - 5:00 pm.

Advising appointments are also available at several off-campus locations and for distance students at (208) 426-5622.

The College of Business and Economics Student Services Center meets with undecided business majors, all freshman and sophomore business majors, and new transfer business majors of all levels. Call (208) 426-3859.
