Scholarship Opportunities
Boise State Osher Reentry Scholarships
Thanks to the generosity and vision of the Bernard Osher Foundation, Boise State has $50,000 in scholarships to award to reentry students during the 2012-13 academic year.
Annual individual awards are up to $1,250 for part-time students and $2,500 for full-time students.
Criteria for the Osher Reentry Scholarship include:
- Being admitted as a degree-seeking undergraduate student at Boise State University in pursuit of her/his first baccalaureate degree
- Being a reentry student, typically a student age 25 to 50 whose college studies were interrupted for at least five years and who is now resuming studies (anyone who has a 5-year cumulative gap in their college attendance [it doesn't have to be 5 straight years - for instance it could be 2 years out, attend a year, then 3 years out again] is eligible. Therefore, a student transferring directly from another college or a student currently enrolled at Boise State may be eligible)
- Enrolling primarily in face-to-face courses
- Having a 3.0 cumulative college GPA
- Demonstrating financial need by completing the online Free Application for Student Aid (FAFSA).
- Completing the online Application for the Boise State Osher Reentry Scholarship (including questions about college history, personal circumstances, and educational and career goals).
- Planning to participate in the workforce for a significant period of time subsequent to graduation
Final selection is competitive. Preference is given to entering students. The scholarship is not renewable; however, those chosen for the scholarship may reapply for the scholarship at the end of the academic year.
