Frequently Asked Questions About Summer
The following questions and answers should help you start making your summer count!
• When do the summer program sessions start?
The Boise State Summer Program has several three-week sessions, two five-week sessions, two eight-week sessions and a ten-week session. Dates are:- First 3-Week Session – May 19 - June 8
- Second 3-Week Session – June 9 - June 29
- Third 3-Week Session – June 30 - July 20
- Fourth 3-Week Session – July 21 - Aug. 10
- First Five-Week Session – June 9 - July 13
- Second Five-Week Session – July 14 - Aug. 17
- First Eight-Week Session – May 19 - July 13
- Second Eight-Week Session – June 9 - Aug. 3
- Ten-Week Session – June 9 - Aug. 17
• Must I be admitted to Boise State in order to take a summer class?
Yes. You can also apply for admission on the Internet at admissions.boisestate.edu or www.boisestate.edu/gradcoll/
• How do I register?
Once you are admitted, you will receive a Username and set a Password which you will use whenever you register, add or drop classes, or search for course information on the Internet. Register online at BroncoWeb .
• I just want to take a workshop; how can I apply and register?
You can register for a workshop on the Internet by clicking BroncoWeb and using your Username and Password anytime between February 19 and the day before the workshop begins, or until it is full.
If you are receiving summer financial aid, you have additional registration deadlines that must be met to ensure correct awarding and disbursement of aid. See financialaid.boisestate.edu, and select “Timely Tips” for details.
If you are a new graduate student or need to be re-admitted as a graduate student, you may call the Extended Studies office, (208) 426-1709 and process a graduate workshop application, receive a user identification and password, and then register via BroncoWeb.
• What are the summer fees and when do I pay?
Fees per credit hour are: undergraduate credit, $222.00; graduate credit, $267.00. Many classes have additional special fees.
• Thursday, May 15 – For first Three-Week and first Eight-Week sessions
• Thursday, June 5 – For second Three-Week, first Five-Week, second Eight-Week, and Ten-Week sessions
• Thursday, June 26 – For third Three-Week session

Thursday, July 10 – For second Five-Week session only
•
Thursday, July 17 – For fourth Three-Week session only

For Workshops – When you register for the workshop
Please note that if you have registered for a summer class, you must either pay for the class or cancel your registration by midnight on the deadline day. If you do not do so, you will be assessed a $50 late penalty.
• Is financial aid available for summer programs?
Financial aid may be available for summer programs. Detailed information on financial aid is available. See financialaid.boisestate.edu.
• Are there classes offered online?
Yes, Boise State offers a limited number of undergraduate courses online in the summer as well as classes in two online Master’s degrees. We also offer courses for educators in a convenient computer-based multimedia format. See Distance Education for more information.
• How can I be assured a place in summer classes?
All classes have enrollment limits. The best way to be assured a place in the class is to register as early as possible.
