Welcome to Summer Program 2007!

The Summer Program offered through Boise State University will help you make the most of your summertime– take a class you need, get a jump start on the fall semester, or learn new skills and information to reach your goals. Boise State offers more than 450 courses, including regular academic offerings, workshops and new and innovative programs available only in the summer.

Admission

The first step to becoming a student at Boise State University is to apply for admission. If you attended Boise State during the Summer of 2005 or later, you do not need to re-apply.

All admission applications must be submitted with a $30 one-time, nonrefundable application fee ($55 for graduate fee). Once admitted to Boise State, you will be notified of when you can register for classes. You will also receive a username, which will allow you to register on the Internet.

How to Browse Course Schedules

Once your application has been accepted, you will receive notification of your Username, have your initial password, and an appointment time for you to register on the web. You can then browse through the course offerings using BroncoWeb to set your summer schedule.

You can view a complete list of all the classes offered in a given semester at https://bweb8.boisestate.edu/eprd/bsu_guest.html

You can also search for a class through BroncoWeb this way:

1. Go to the BroncoWeb web page
2. Log in using your given Username and the Password that you set for yourself.
3. Within the Main Menu, you may click on "Course Catalog and Schedule"
4. Click on "View Schedule of Classes" and select the Institution and Term
5. Click the "Class Search" button and fill in the other criteria for your search
6. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click "Search"

NOTE: If you are looking for workshops, select that criteria within the "Course Component" section's drop down menus.

When and How to Get Registered

Registration begins February 5 and runs until the day before the session or workshop starts.

Once you are admitted to Boise State, have your username, set your password, and have selected the classes you want, you are ready to register by going to http://broncoweb.boisestate.edu

Log into the BroncoWeb registration system. Follow the steps for registering and when you are done, print a copy of your class schedule. If you need assistance on this process, you can call the BroncoWeb Help Line at (208) 426-BWEB (2932), the Extended Studies office (208) 426-1709,or you may email your question to bweb@boisestate.edu.

You may register from any internet-connected computer.

Computers for registration are also available for students at:
• Extended Studies office, 1015 Grant Ave., 8:00 am to 5:00 pm,
Mon. - Fri.
• Any campus computer lab.
• Other campuses: West Campus, Canyon County, Gowen Field, Mountain Home Air Force Base or Twin Falls.

How to Get An Advisor

We strongly recommend that you meet with an advisor and review your course schedule.

To find an academic advisor, call the department of your major or the Gateway Center for Academic Support, (208) 426-4049 (2055 University Dr.), 8:00 am - 5:00 pm.

Advising appointments are also available at several off-campus locations and for distance students at (208) 426-5622.

The COBE Student Services Center meets with undecided business majors, all freshman and sophomore business majors, and new transfer business majors of all levels. Call (208) 426-3859.

Fee Policy
Once you register for classes (including workshops that begin later in the summer), you remain registered and are responsible for the fees and grades for these classes unless you cancel your registration. If you decide not to attend any classes, you must drop all of them through BroncoWeb before midnight on the days listed above (http://broncoweb.boisestate.edu).
If you do not cancel your registration or pay your fees by the fee payment deadline, you will remain registered, you will be charged course fees, and you will be assessed a $50 late penalty
.

NOTE: If your tuition, fees or other charges remain unpaid, you may be sent to an outside collection agency and will be responsible for any additional collection costs.

WORKSHOP REFUNDS (classes with catalog numbers ending in 294, 494, 594, or 599):  100% refund if workshop is dropped the day before the first class.

NOTE: Federal financial aid recipients may be subject to alternate refund calculations as specified by federal law.

It is the responsibility of the student to become aware of the refund policy of Boise State University. Please refer to http://finad.boisestate.edu/sfs.htm for more information.

• Special Session classes are refunded based on the above session policy according to class length.

• All complete withdrawals from the University are subject to a $25 processing fee.

Summer Financial Aid

Summer aid is available to students who have not used all of their annual eligibility. Federal Pell Grants, ACG/SMART Grants, Federal Direct Loans, Federal PLUS loans, and remaining work-study may be available to help pay for summer classes.

• Aid is available to students who have not used all of their annual eligibility.

• To apply for summer aid, complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and submit to the federal processor as soon as possible but no later than April 1. If you already have a FAFSA on file for 2006-07, you do not need to do another.

• Work-study students who wish to work after June 29 must have completed the 2007-08 aid application process and have a 2007-08 work-study award. In addition, you must be enrolled in at least 6 credits for fall 07 (graduate students, 5 credits). Your supervisor must also complete the new referral form at the Career Center before you may continue working on or after July 1.

• All financial aid recipients must be making satisfactory academic progress. Your progress will be checked after spring grades have been reported. If you do not meet the satisfactory academic progress requirements, aid offered to you for summer will not be disbursed. You will also not be eligible to continue working at any work-study job.

Auditing Courses

If there is space available in a class, you may register for a course under audit status, which means that you will not receive credit or a grade for the class. You may change your status from credit to audit or audit to credit until the second day after the beginning of the session in which you’ve enrolled. The fee is the same for credit and audit.

.


Add/Drop/Withdrawal Process


The responsibility for properly adding or dropping classes and/or withdrawing from the University rests solely with the student. Failure to observe proper procedures will result in the student receiving a failing grade.

• Add/Drop requests are processed by the student online at BroncoWeb.

• Withdrawing from all classes is also processed by the student by dropping all classes on BroncoWeb.

• All complete withdrawals from the University are subject to a $25 processing fee.

• Students may not withdraw from classes and workshops after they have ended.
