Academic Grievance Board

This board hears grievances filed by students who feel they have been graded unfairly. The other function of this board is to hear appeals of decisions made at the College level in cases of academic dishonesty.

Bookstore Advisory Board

Advises the Bookstore management concerning policies and operation of the Boise State University Bookstore and reviews financial information.

Calendar Committee

This committee is responsible for advising and preparing recommendations on all matters associated with the scheduling of all calendar academic related matters.

The committee will develop a comprehensive sign program for Boise State University.

Children's Center Advisory Board

The Board of Directors has the responsibility of advising the director and staff of the center on proposed programs, child care, philosophy, procedures, policies, and university center relations

Commencement Speaker Selection Committee

Committee will evaluate nominations for student speakers for December and May commencements and identify students to forward on in the process.

Cultural Center Advisory Board

The Cultural Center at Boise State University is committed to creating an inclusive environment where cultural diversity is appreciated and valued, and where people with different values and beliefs are treated with respect and dignity. The Center provides a safe, open, friendly, home-away-from home atmosphere in which students are able to create relationships on campus and ease into the adjustment of university life.

Enrollment Management Committee

This committee helps provide the university with the direction of enrollment management as well as helping the university address enrollment issues.

Food Service Advisory Committee

Provides feedback to the contract administrators and Fine Host regarding food service components in the areas of retail food service, catering, resident dining and concessions. Meets once per semester for updates on food service program on campus and gives constituencies a chance to give feedback.

Human Resources Advisory Committee

This committee provides advice and feedback to HRS regarding issues affecting Boise State University employees, including policies, compensation, benefits, etc.

Intercollegiate Athletics Advisory Committee

Meets monthly to review current events, policy procedures of the athletic department.

Faculty representation:

5 faculty with 3-year terms.


Nondiscrimination and Affirmative Action Committee

Membership: The Nondiscrimination and Affirmative Action Committee is appointed by the President of the university and shall consist of individuals representing the various constituencies of the university, including minority groups, women, students and the disabled. One member will be appointed by the Chairperson of the Faculty Senate, and two members each will be appointed by the Chair of the Association of Professional Staff, Association of Classified Employees and the Associated Student Body of Boise State University (ASBSU). The Nondiscrimination and Affirmative Action Committee shall have no less than 9 and no more than 15 voting members. The Affirmative Action Director and the Director of Human Resources are ex-officio, nonvoting members. The Chairperson of the Nondiscrimination and Affirmative Action Committee shall be a voting member. A term on the Nondiscrimination and Affirmative Action Committee shall be two years. Members may be reappointed for consecutive terms.

Fiscal oversight of student newspaper. Also hires student editor and student business manager.

Research Council

This standing committee shall serve as a faculty advisory group to the Vice President for Research to provide overall advice regarding strategic directions for University research programs, and policies and procedures developed and implemented through the Division of Research. Committee members shall provide a communication link necessary to foster and encourage research within the academic community between the Division of Research and the college/schools in which each member holds an appointment.

Student Conduct Board

The Student Conduct Board shall have jurisdiction over Student Code of Conduct and other university student conduct meetings at Boise State University. The Student Conduct Board will review all complaints with reference to the above unless said complaints fall under the jurisdiction of the ASBSU Judiciary. Appeals from decisions of the Student Conduct Board will be made to the Student Policy and Appellate Board.

Student Policy & Appellate Board

The Student Policy and Appellate Board, under the chairmanship of the Vice President for Student Affairs, is designated as the primary agency for the development and administration of the Student Code of Conduct; the student conduct system; and other student policies and procedures relating to student life on the campus of Boise State University. The Student Policy and Appellate Board is the highest and final board in the conduct system, and as such will hear appeals from cases heard by the Student Conduct Board, Student Housing Administrator, University Administrator, Academic Grievance Committee, and decisions rendered by faculty members in cases of academic dishonesty. The Student Conduct Board and all other conduct bodies are subordinate to the Student Policy and Appellate Board.

Student Recreation Board of Governors

The Board shall serve as the primary advisory committee to the Director of Campus Recreation in all matters related to the Boise State University Student Recreation Center, its operation and programs.

Student Union Board of Governors

A. The Student Union serves as a center and forum for the academic community - students, faculty, staff, alumni, and guests. As a facility, it provides services, conveniences, and amenities needed to enhance the daily life of the University.

B. The Student Union is an organization and a program designed to encourage students and other members of the University community to meet and share talents, interests, and ideas in an action-learning setting.

C. Through cooperative governance between boards, committees, and staff and through the provision of cultural, social, and recreational programs, there is the opportunity for ripening of intellectual, creative, and communicative capacities.

Women's Center Advisory Board

The Women's Center Advisory Board is comprised of 13 members who represent faculty, staff, students and Boise City community members. The Board works to provide advice and assistance to the Women's Center coordinator in the development and promotion of activities on campus. Along with participation in a fall retreat, the Board meets every three weeks on Tuesday's at noon.
