Boise State University prepares tax statements for our students every January reflecting the amounts billed for qualified tuition and related expenses and the amount of scholarships awarded during the previous calendar year. The 1098T tax form is sent out on or before January 31 by US Mail to the mailing address you have on file at Boise State. You will need this form to take either the tuition and fees deduction or claim an education credit on Form 1040 or 1040A for the qualified tuition and related expense that were actually paid in 2009.
A feature in the new BroncoWeb Student Center allows you to view past-year's 1098T forms electronically. And, if you grant consent to receive all your 1098T forms electronically, you will be allowed to access your 1098T form earlier than students receiving a paper copy. Additionally, you are helping Boise State to be environmentally friendly by limiting the amount of paper products used to print our 1098T form and enclosures. Please be aware that even if you signed up last year for the electronic option, you will need to sign up again this year.
You can sign up for the electronic version now on BroncoWeb at http://broncoweb.boisestate.edu/ and then follow these instructions:
If you have any questions, please call the Payment & Disbursement Center at 426-1212 or e-mail sfinfo@boisestate.edu.
