The federal Parent PLUS Loan is one where a parent is the actual borrower of loan funds to benefit a son or daughter in college.
To apply for the Parent PLUS Loan, ONLY the parent borrowing the funds should sign in to initiate and complete the application!
1. Parent Borrower signs into the web site: StudentLoans.govwith the same PIN used for signing the FAFSA
If the Parent Borrower needs a federal PIN, one can be created or requested at: www.PIN.ed.gov
If the Parent Borrower has forgotten their PIN, it is best to "Request a Duplicate PIN" at the www.PIN.ed.gov web site. Doing so allows for the PIN to be displayed immediately.
2. The screen shot below shows what the parent will see after signing in. Click on "Request a PLUS Loan."
