Summer work-study job details can be tricky because of federal regulations and the transition from one financial aid year to the next. Take these factors into account for the summer of 2009.
To earn 2009-2010 work-study funds between May 15th - June 26, 2010, you must be enrolled at least half-time for summer classes.
6 or more credits for undergraduate students
5 or more credits for graduate students
Students graduating spring semester may not work after May 14th
June 26th is the deadline for earning the last of your 2009-2010 work-study award.
After July 1, a student may begin earning 2010-2011 work-study funds when
they are:
awarded work-study for 2010-2011
registered at least half time as a degree seeking student for fall semester 2010
meeting satisfactory academic progress standards and all other eligibility criteria
Employers must complete a new Employee Action Form for 2010-2011 for continuing work-study employees.
Student employees need to complete a new W-4 form in the Human Resources Office.
