Internships
Pre-Master's Degree and Post-Master's Degree Training Positions
Counseling Services at Boise State University embraces a model of diversity in service delivery, and the internship program at Counseling Services offers a full range of training and development with two levels of training positions; Pre-Master's Degree Trainees and Post-Master's Degree Interns. We offer high quality clinical experiences for Pre-Master's Degree Trainees fulfilling their master's program internship/practicum requirements in counseling, psychology, and social work, and Post-Master's Degree Interns working toward advanced licensure.
All training positions include:
- the opportunity to provide direct services for individual counseling, couples/relationship counseling, and group counseling.
- the opportunity to participate in providing campus and community wide outreach.
- the opportunity to receive supervision from clinicians with a variety of theoretical orientations.
- participation in individual supervision with two different supervisors during the academic year.
- participation in group supervision on a weekly basis.
- participation in weekly discussions and educational training seminars.
- participation in weekly clinical staff meeting.
- access to consult with any member of the senior counseling staff through informal consultations.
- access to consult with medical and wellness staff through informal consultations.
All training positions will be approximately 32 weeks in duration, from mid August 2009 to mid May 2010, which requires a commitment of 19.5 hours per week for the fall and spring semesters.

Application packets (including letter of interest, a Vita or Resume, and copies of Graduate and Undergraduate transcripts) should be submitted to Karla West by March 13, 2009. Interviews will be conducted the weeks of March 16th and 23rd.
