Graphic Design Intern

DUTIES/JOB DESCRIPTION: The graphic design intern is responsible for the production and the creation of promotional materials at the request of the Health, Wellness and Counseling Staff. The graphic design intern provides a consistent standard of work and is responsible for creation of promotional material, which is creative and attractive, while also committed to Health, Wellness and Counseling Services identity.

REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must be a Boise State University student at least of junior standing. HWC is looking for applicants who are enthusiastic team players that possess strong design, organization and communication skills. Computer proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite: Illustrator, Photoshop, Microsoft Word and some Dreamweaver program knowledge are strongly desired.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • To maintain a high standard in all work created which will represent HWC (table tents, posters, banners, brochures, promotional items etc..)
  • To ensure that all work is created by the deadline discussed by the Promotions Coordinator and the graphic design intern, as well as being able to prioritize your work schedule well.
  • Any other duties and responsibilities discussed with the Promotions Coordinator.

BENEFITS: Each intern will receive up to 2 credits and $8.00 per hour. This is a great opportunity for undergraduate students to receive direct experience in the field of graphic design right here at Boise State while earning credit towards graduation!

TIME and TRAINING: The time involves 100 hours per semester for 2 credits. Individual supervision of 1/2 hour each week is also provided to help tailor the work to the specific needs of the project each intern facilitates. Internship hours are to be carried out during the workday Monday through Friday, with the potential for some evening and/or weekend hours depending on need.

OTHER INFORMATION: Students in this position must be working towards a degree in graphic design. This position will give the student a "hands-on" approach to knowledge obtain knowledge obtained in graphic design classes. Please be prepared to bring your portfolio for a review.
