"The big Briggs property was built probably around 1915. At that time there was a real effort being made in spite of the opposition to graveling the roads. In the late summer, there were deep dust ruts and in the winter, mud. In spite of that fact, they thought, many people thought, that it was an unnecessary expense to gravel the roads. However, it was done and later on gravel roads were extended throughout all of the Ada County."
