"They got off the train and the story goes that they walked from the train depot, which was at the corner of Tenth and Front Street, you know the train depot was on Front Street at Tenth, and they walked down to the Idanha Hotel and they stayed in the Idanha Hotel there and they walked around town on a Sunday. Went over to the corner of Ninth and Bannock Street where Wyler's Piano House was and they were standing talking to a fellow and he said he had a beautiful store here but how would anybody know what you sold, you have no signs. The fellow said, 'There's no sign painters here.' Dad said, 'I'm a sign painter.' So anyway, he painted the first sign in Boise for Wyler's Piano Company."
