"Some of the big things that I remember--one of the biggest days was always Fourth of July. We always had to have a 4th of July dress-a special dress made for the 4th of July and it usually was a white one. And then we had special ribbons to go for a belt and for a hair ribbon. I had two long braids and for Fourth of July ribbons I always had red, white, and blue ribbons and maybe have a red, white, and blue sash. And at our Fourth of July's they had floats commemorating all of the different historical events. And they usually wound up with the Chinese for the end of the parade when they brought out their dragon and had their bands playing. I can always remember seeing the dragon going by with the what-they-call the Chinese rockers, or shoes, under the foot of them, and their cue hanging down so's you could see they were walking under the dragon."
