“I was in that Natatorium in ‘36”
From the Idaho State Historical Societies Oral History collection OH1099. Boise citizen Clarence Moser describes a fateful day in 1936 at Boise’s Natatorium Swimming Pool. “I was in that Natatorium in ’36, I think it was, when the [?] started blowing down. I was in the deep end of the pool and I’d just left the deep end of the pool, a bunch of us, and went down to the shallow end. Well in this storm, there was a big storm outside, we got down to the shallow end and we hadn’t been down there five minutes ‘til one of those big beams fell down in the pool. And lucky it never hit a person. But boy, they was scattered then. Everybody come out of there, they condemned it then.” Oral History Clarence Moser OH1099 ISHS |
