Ted Trueblood, American outdoorsman, writer, and conservationist, was born June 26, 1913 in Boise, Idaho. He was raised on a farm near Homedale, and spent his entire youth and college years in Idaho. His first article, about Idaho trout, was sold to a national magazine the same year he graduated from high school.
Trueblood married Ellen Michaelson at the age of 26. While trying to make a living selling freelance articles, he went to work for the Idaho Fish and Game Department. One year later he was offered a position as fishing editor at Field & Stream, and he packed up his family and moved to New York City. Although he later moved back to Idaho, Trueblood continued to write for Field & Stream for the rest of his life, as well as several other magazines. Click here for a more complete biography.
