Community Assistant
Job Description:The Community Assistant represents University Housing as a key paraprofessional staff member and a student role model. CAs work under the direct supervision of the professional Resident Director staff (RD). Together, these staff members work as a team, and with students, to create and maintain a safe atmosphere that enriches the learning experience by creating an environment that fosters personal growth, academic success, civility and commitment to citizenship.
Required qualifications:
- Must be enrolled as a full-time student at Boise State University with a minimum of 12 credits (undergraduate) or 9 credits (graduate) taken on a semester basis
- Must have a minimum cumulative and semester GPA of 2.5 (undergraduates) or 3.0 (graduates)
- Must have attained Sophomore status or higher (26 or more credits)
- Must be in good standing with the University and University Housing
- Ability to serve in the CA role for one academic year, including University break periods
- Must attend all training sessions throughout the academic year
- Summer application status is a separate contract period
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience living in University Housing at Boise State University
- Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Strong ability to be flexible and adapt to unexpected situations
- Ability and willingness to serve as a positive role model to other students

- Rent-free, University-owned Apartment
- Opportunity to earn $7.25 per hour for additional desk hours
