University Square and University Suites:
There are 4 ports in each room and only one is active; 2 ports will be on one wall and 2 ports on another. Please contact the front desk and ask for the active port number. You may also plug your computer into each port and wait about one minute before trying to connect to a web page. The port in the living room is a phone line and this cannot be converted to network. See the University Port map.
Keiser Hall & Taylor Hall:
There are two ports in each room, one is a phone and the other is a network port. Plug your computer into one port and wait about one minute before trying to connect to a web page.If this fails, please try the next port.
University Heights:
There are two ports in each room, one is a phone and the other is a network port. Plug your computer into one port and wait about one minute before trying to connect to a web page. If this fails, please try the next port.
University Village:
There are 2 ports in the living room and both are active.
University Manor

For Windows XP:
If your Internet does not work after step 1, verify you have the correct network settings.
Click Start
Click Control Panel
Click Switch to Classic View if given the choice
Double-click Network Connections

Right click on Local Area Connection and click Properties

Click Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), then Properties

Ensure your screen looks like the one below, click OK, and close all other windows. Restart the computer and try getting onto the Internet again.

For Windows Vista and 7
If you are unable to gain access to the internet you may be connecting to an “Unidentified network”. To solve this you must disable IPV6Right click the appropriate icon in the lower right hand corner and then select “Open Network and Sharing Center”
Click “Change adapter settings” on the left side of the window.
Determine which source you are trying to connect with, “Local Area Connection” (wired) or “Wireless Network Connection”
Right click the desired connection and select “Properties”.
Un-tick:
- Internet Protocol Version 6
- Link-Layer Topology Discover Mapper I/O Driver
- Link-Layer Topology Discovery Responder

Click OK and restart the computer.
