- Wireless routers and mini-switches can be connected to network ports in resident rooms. Any of the standard ones available in computer stores will work. A minimum security setup of WEP encryption is required. Contact your front desk and set an appointment if you require assistance in setting up your devise.
- You are required to run the SafeConnect client to get on the BSU network (see SafeConnect). To get the SafeConnect client, plug your computer into the network and open a web browser. You will be prompted for your BroncoWeb username and password and be directed to the download page for the SafeConnect client. You must have up to date antivirus software and up to date security patches installed in order for SafeConnect to allow connecting to the BSU network. If you do not have anti-virus software, please go to our Anti-virus software page for more information.
- If your computer is infected with viruses, you will be disconnected until University Housing technicians can clean the virus off your computer.
- University Suites rooms have four ports in each room and only one port is active; 2 ports will be on one wall and 2 ports on another. Please contact the front desk and ask for the active port number. The port in the living room is for phone only.
- University Square rooms have four ports in each room and only one port is active; 2 ports will be on one wall and 2 ports on another. Please contact the front desk and ask for the active port number. The port in the living room is for phone only.
- Keiser Hall and Taylor Hall have two ports in each room, one is phone and one is Internet. If one port does not work, try the one next to it before setting up an appointment.
- University Manor and University Heights Apartments have two ports in each room, one is phone and one is Internet. If one port does not work, try the one next to it before setting up an appointment.
- University Village Apartments have 2 ports in the living room and both are active.
