Study Abroad Programs


As a Boise State University student, you can study abroad on any accredited program. These online databases are operated by organizations not affiliated with Boise State. They contain listings of study abroad programs offered by universities and organizations around the world. Make an appointment with the study abroad advisor at Boise State for more information. www.GoAbroad.com describes itself as a "on-line source for study abroad, language schools, overseas internships, international volunteer positions, teach abroad, jobs abroad, US Universities, Eco-Travel around the world, and more."

www.iagora.com A guide to study and work abroad. Students are invited to write reviews of programs in which they have participated, which are then catalogued for you read. Requires registration to use (free).

www.studysa.co.za A guide specifically for study abroad in South Africa, hosted by the International Education Association of South Africa.

www.iiepassport.org IIE Passport -- Living and Learning Abroad, is another comprehensive search engine for programs. You can set up a profile for the type of program you want, or just browse.

www.istc.umn.edu A guide maintained by the University of Minnesota to over 1,500 programs, as well as work and volunteer opportunities. Another site with student reviews. There is also a searchable "tips" guide for information on hundreds of travel related matters.

www.petersons.com/stdyabrd/sasector.html Another search engine, with added feature columns. Check out "Study Abroad Myths" as well as the articles on culture shock and safety.

www.studyabroad.com A large database with a "Handbook", a guide to financial aid, and discussion boards (chat).

www.britishcouncil-usa.org Resources for Studying in the UK.
