As we have done in the past, auditions will be behind a screen with an impartial judge. Prepare all places marked with black brackets. Please take the time to listen to recordings of these pieces to get a sense of what tempos are within an acceptable range. You are being judged on accuracy of notes, style, correct rhythms, and tone. Experienced orchestra players will tell you it is in your best interest to own and to listen to recordings of these pieces to aid you in your preparation of these excerpts. It is always wise to consult with your private teachers to solve technical and style issues. In other words , be prepared!
