Dan Costello
Blending classical, bluegrass, progressive rock, funk, jazz,
and folk rock may sound difficult. Even hazardous. But
singer-songwriter and guitarist Dan Costello is up to the
challenge. His performance experience ranges from
hard rock bands to jazz ensembles to medieval
instrumental troupes. He earned a degree in classical
guitar in 2001 and has worked both in and out of the
scholastic realm as a performer, accompanist, editor,
composer, arranger, lyricist, teacher, and tour manager.
He now serves on the faculty of Boise State University as
a guitar instructor.
Recently Dan has been featured on TV on Treasure Valley
Television’s “Boise City Limits” and on the radio with
KBSU’s “Music From Stanley,” and is completing
a second CD with his band, Stella. His live shows incorporate everything
from a 1939 Regal archtop guitar to state-of-the-art
guitar synth effects and loops. He also sits in with a wide
variety of other popular Boise bands. He is an outspoken
proponent of local, grass-roots music.
