Jenny Jones

A Northwest native, Jenny Jones grew up in Pasco, Washington.  She received her Bachelor’s in Music with an emphasis in violin performance from La Sierra University, Riverside, CA in 1997.  While there she studied with Lyndon Johnston Taylor, the principle second violinist of the Los Angeles Philharmonic, and graduated cum laude.  She won her first concerto competition at the age of eleven which enabled her to solo with an orchestra for the first time.  Many orchestral soloing opportunities have come her way, the most recent with the Meridian Symphony Orchestra in March, 2005 after which she served as concertmaster for two years.  She is currently a member of the Boise Baroque Orchestra.  Jenny began teaching others to play the violin at the age of fourteen.  In college, she studied string pedagogy and taught in the Community Music School at La Sierra University.  When Jenny moved to Boise, in 2001, she decided to enhance her training by taking Suzuki teacher training.  She is currently certified to teach Suzuki books 1-5.  In addition to playing and teaching music, Jenny is a wife and mother to two young children.
