The Department of Music offers undergraduate curricula leading to the degrees of:

Each of the undergraduate degrees offered prepares a student to pursue a career in music or to enter graduate school.
The Bachelor of Music degree is considered the professional degree in the Department of Music. Options available in this degree are:
- Performance (pdf)- provides a strong background in repertoire and prepares for a professional career at the university level.
- Music Education (pdf)- prepares for a career in public school music teaching.
- Music Education Certification Requirements (pdf) (for those possessing a music degree but desire certification). Please Note: The following classes are for certification only. They are not intended to serve as a degree program. Students entering this program must have the basic music core curriculum (see catalog) completed prior to application for certification.
- Music Theory/Composition - for talented students who wish to actively create in a variety of music idioms.
The Bachelor of Arts degree provides a broad Liberal Arts background and offers two primary areas of emphasis:
- Music/Business - provides a student with a music degree and a basic business background.
- Music/General - a basic knowledge of music and a broad liberal arts background with electives available to allow exploration of other areas of interest.
