ALERT@BoiseState is a mass notification system that automatically sends emergency messages to Boise State e-mail addresses and telephone numbers during an urgent situation that has the potential to affect your health and safety.
Students, faculty and staff also have an “opt-in” choice through their BroncoWeb account to include additional communications devices such as:
- Personal cell phones
- Text messaging
- Personal e-mail
- Home telephone
Opting in is voluntary, but you are strongly urged to opt-in and provide your personal contact information, as it may prove to be the most direct way to reach you in a campus emergency. Registration is simple through BroncoWeb and it only takes a minute.
- Go to BroncoWeb
- Log in with your Username and Password
- Click Alert Options on main menu
- Add your contact information
- Click Next, review the terms and conditions, and then click Save
For faculty and staff, when the university initiates an emergency message, we will automatically call your office phone with a voice message, call your cell phone if it is reimbursed by the university, and send an e-mail message to your university e-mail account.
For students, you will automatically receive an e-mail in your BroncoMail powered by Google account.
During an emergency, this will be the most effective way for you to get up to the minute information on where to go or what do to.
Only emergency and other urgent messages will be sent via the ALERT@BoiseState, and the system will not be used to distribute advertising or other unsolicited content. In the event of an active, major campus emergency, all Boise State personnel should also check their e-mail accounts, the university website, and local media reports for other critical updates.
Enrollment in the ALERT@BoiseState program is free. However, you may be charged a message fee by your service provider if you have a phone plan that does not cover text messaging; consult your carrier to confirm.
ALERT@BoiseState is administered by members of Boise State’s Emergency Response Team. To provide this service, the university has contracted with Send Word Now, a mass notification provider working with universities nationwide to support emergency communications plans.
