Take your fitness to the next level — challenge yourself, learn a new skill, or simply increase your fitness level. The Instructional Program classes at Campus Rec are a great way to learn a new skill or brush up on an old one. Throughout the session you will progress from basic knowledge to more advanced skills with the same group of participants.

There are two sessions, 3-week and 8-week, offered to complement your busy lifestyle. Sign up for one class or many, or use the 3-week session as a teaser or introduction prior to the 8-week. Campus Rec will also have a free class week from Feb. 2-Feb. 9, so you can get a taste of what these classes are all about.

Hula Hoop for Fitness Take a break from studying or work and indulge your inner child. Try out this invigorating mix of dancing and hula hooping and learn how to do tricks you’ve only dreamed of. In addition to trying something new, you will enjoy the benefits of cardiovascular conditioning and strength training. 6:30-7:30 p.m. Wednesdays.

Restorative Yoga Join us for a relaxing and restorative yoga class that will be beneficial for all abilities. Practice gentle yoga techniques with the aid of props and self massage for the ultimate rejuvenation. 4-5 p.m. Sundays.

Yoga Intensive Deepen your yoga practice with a workshop teaching appropriate alignment, body mechanics, and breathing techniques. Learn to better utilize attention and intellect to focus the awareness of the body. Great for the returning yogi as well as those newer to the discipline. 5:15-6:30 p.m. Thursdays.

Salsa Dance Looking to add a little cha-cha-cha to your life? Sign up for this intense dance workout for both experienced and beginners alike. Bring a friend or come single and ready to mingle. 6:45-8:15 p.m. Thursdays.

Belly Dance The search is over for a class that has it all. Learn to move your body in a fast-paced workout that focuses on core muscles, legs, hips, buttocks and arms. Belly dance is an all-encompassing workout for an all-around amazing time. 6-7 p.m. Mondays.

Pure Pilates Get away from reality for a while and integrate a little Pilates into your day. Concentrate on techniques ranging from breathing and centering to fluidity and precision. 5:30-6:30 p.m. Tuesdays.

Masters Swim Training Would your coworkers describe you as a fish out of water? Close your eyes, take a deep breath and jump into an invigorating aquatic workout. Pick your pace and improve your swimming technique and endurance. 6-7 p.m. Tuesdays and Fridays.

Racquetball Learn the fundamentals of the game, including rules, technique and position. Class is taught by a certified American Professional Racquetball instructor. Challenge your friends to a match and shock and awe them with your newfound skills. 6-7 p.m. Wednesdays.

Functional Fitness Over 50 Strength, flexibility, and balance training are extremely beneficial as you age. Strength training increases bone mass and helps to prevent fractures. Flexibility and balance training increases overall stability and reduces those daily hazards such as slips and trips. Improving strength, balance and flexibility will make everyday activities more enjoyable. 9:30-10:30 a.m. Thursdays.

Registration also continues now through Feb. 7 for the 3-week session and Feb. 28 for the 8-week session. The 3-week session runs from Feb. 11 through March 2, and the 8-week runs from March 3 to May 4. Registration is now available on-line at http://rec.boisestate.edu/fitness/instruction.
