Parking Has a New Home

Parking and Transportation Services is now located at on the bottom floor of the Lincoln Parking Structure. Entrance doors are located along University Drive on the corner of University and Lincoln Avenue. The hours of operation are 7 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday.

Go Online for Spring Parking Permits Spring parking permits are available. They may be purchase them from the Parking and Transportation Services Office or conveniently purchased online at www.boisestate.edu/parking. Permits will be valid at the time of purchase through August 2008. Already have a general permit? Upgrade to a parking structure with a reserved permit and keep your car out of the rain and snow.

General Spaces Available at Peak Times Every semester Parking and Transportation Services counts the number of spaces available to university permit holders. On Monday of this week at the peak time of 11:30 a.m., approximately 380 spaces were still available for general permit holders. A majority of these spaces were available in the parking lot on the east side of Bronco Stadium. Parking and Transportation Services encourages all general permit holders to park in the east stadium lot, and if needed take the free shuttle to the west end of campus.

Free Shuttle/Bus Rides Available All members of the Boise State community are reminded that the Bronco Shuttle travels from one end of campus to the other throughout the day when classes are in session. The shuttle operates from 7 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday-Thursday and 7 a.m.-5:30 p.m. on Fridays. During the peak hours (9 a.m.-5 p.m.) the shuttle frequency is every eight minutes. The Bronco Shuttle is in operation during the fall and spring semesters only. It does not operate on school holidays, breaks or during the summer.

Valley Ride (the Boise bus system) has been providing service to Boise State for more than six years. During the fall and spring semesters, all registered BSU students, staff and faculty may utilize Valley Ride free of charge by showing their BSU ID card with a BUS Sticker (available at no charge from BSU Parking Services and the Student Union Information Desk). This service may be used Monday through Saturday, whether traveling to school, downtown, the mall or any other destination serviced by Valley Ride. On most routes daily service begins at 5:15 a.m. and stops as late as 7:40 p.m. On Saturday, service begins at 7:45 a.m. and continues until 6:10 p.m. Bus service to and from Boise State West has also been added this year. Restricted Parking for Tonight’s Basketball Game and Jan. 31 Performance The west stadium general lots and metered areas will close starting at 3:30 p.m. today for the Boise State men’s basketball game. Vehicles that have been parked prior to 3:30 p.m. do not have to relocate. Basketball parking will be offered in the stadium lots starting at 5:30 p.m.. All valid BSU parking passes will be honored in the east stadium, Extended Studies, and Rec Center parking lots. The Bronco Athletic Association will have reserved parking in portions of the west stadium lot, east stadium lot, Manitou lot, and the Rec Center lot. The west stadium lot and Bronco Circle is reserved parking only.

Paid parking will be offered for those without a permit in the east stadium lot, the Extended Studies lot, and the Lincoln Parking Structure. The best place for fans to park for the game is the Lincoln Parking Structure. The entrances are located off of Belmont and Lincoln Avenue and University Drive and Michigan Avenue. The fee is $5 per vehicle. A free shuttle will be provided to and from Taco Bell Arena.

On Jan. 31, Taco Bell Arena will be hosting comedian Rodney Carrington, causing restricted parking in the general area of the west stadium starting at 4 p.m. Vehicles parked prior to 4 p.m. do not have to relocate.
