A: BSU Carpool Initiative Group will provide a list of your fellow BSU workers who are interested in sharing the ride that live near you and have similar work hours as you do. You can choose commuter(s) from the list and work out the details. To get your custom carpool list, fill out the Online BSU carpool Form. We will provide updates as more people participate in this program. Q: How flexible are the carpool schedules? A: Carpooling can occur as often as you would like. You work out the days, times and meeting places with your carpool partner. It's voluntary and at your discretion. If everyone were to leave their car at home just one day a week traffic congestion would be reduced by 20%. Q: I don't have a car, can I still carpool? A: Yes. Some commuters would prefer to drive. Just check the "rider only" box on the Ridematch form. Q: Does BSU encourage carpooling? A: Boise State University as a part of the Campus Sustainability movement is committed to encouraging and providing incentives to employees to use alternative transportation. It helps to reduce congestion in the parking lots and on the highways and is good for the environment. Q: What happens if there is an emergency and I've used an alternative to driving alone to travel to work? A:ACHD Commuteride offers a Guaranteed Ride Home program. Q: What if I join a carpool and decide I don't like it? A: you are not obligated to continue to participate, but as a courtesy to your fellow carpoolers, please give them proper notification, so they can adjust their plans. |

A: Though we would love to include students we do not have the resources as yet. However, depending on the success of the faculty/staff program we may be able to expand to include students in the future. | |
A: Our resources are too limited at this point, which is why we would refer you to Commuteride at this point. There are plans to expand, if this is a success, in some manner in the future so we can include other locations besides Boise. |
