Boise State University assumes no responsibility
for care or protection of any vehicle or its contents while it
is operated or parked on campus. All vehicles should be locked,
with valuables secured, while left unattended.
Boise State Department of Parking &
Transportation Services offers a motorist-assist service.
Personnel will jump start a dead battery or unlock a car door
(except on vehicles equipped with electronically activated
locks and/or side air bags) if keys are locked in the vehicle.
Both services are performed for no charge. Call Parking &
Transportation Services at 426-PARK (7275).
A signature and driver's license will be required for lockout
assistance.
People with or without permits whose vehicles
have broken down on University property are to notify the
Department of Parking & Transportation Services immediately.
Major mechanical repairs to, and dead storage of, vehicles on
University property is prohibited.
Vehicles not displaying license plates or
temporary registrations will be considered abandoned if not
moved within 72 hours. Abandoned or junked motor vehicles
remaining on University property more than 72 hours will be
removed at owner's expense.
Displaying or selling of vehicles on campus is
prohibited.
Violation of any of these regulations will result
in the vehicle being ticketed and/or towed away at the owner's
expense.
A designated parking space consists of two
painted parallel lines connected on either end by a third line,
curb, or road's edge. The responsibility for finding a legal
parking space rests with the motor vehicle operator at all
times, including bad weather and darkness. Lack of space is not
considered a valid excuse for violation of regulations. In all
cases in which a motor vehicle is parked, the position will be
such that the whole vehicle is located within boundaries of the
parking space.
In unpaved lots the front of a vehicle should be
centered on, and front wheels should be placed against, the
wheel block which denotes the parking space. The fact that
other vehicles are parked improperly will not constitute a
valid excuse for parking with any part of the motor vehicle
outside parking space boundaries. If any part of a vehicle
extends beyond the regular parking space into a roadway, blocks
traffic, is in a non-designated area, fire lane, or yellow
painted area, that vehicle is considered improperly parked and
will be ticketed and/or towed.
