Electronic Research Administration: e-proposal submission guidelines

Grants.gov

In response to Public Law 106-107, the federal government has created a central on-line site for the submission of electronic grant proposals.  While certain federal agencies, such as the National Science Foundation, continue to support their own internal electronic proposal submission applications, currently grants.gov is the single access point for over 900 grant programs offered by the 26 Federal grant-making agencies.  The Office of Sponsored Programs has elected to remain the “Authorized Organizational Representative” to ensure all grant proposals submitted electronically have been reviewed and approved by the university.  By assuming the AOR role, the Office of Sponsored Programs has also greatly simplified the grants.gov proposal submission process for BSU faculty.

Proposal Submission Instructions

  1. Go to www.grants.gov
  2. Select “find grant opportunities”
  3. Select the most appropriate search option to locate your opportunity
  4. Choose opportunity title you wish to apply for
  5. Send link to opportunity to your Senior Research Administrator (please refer to http://www.boisestate.edu/research/osp/quick-guide.shtml to determine your specific administrator)
  6. Work in collaboration with your Senior Research Administrator to complete the grants.gov application package
  7. Senior Research Administrator will do a final review your proposal and discuss any necessary changes with you.
  8. Senior Research Administrator will send the final application to you for review and request approval to submit
  9. Senior Research Administrator will submit your proposal via Grants.gov on your behalf.

PLEASE NOTE:
Grants.gov is a continually changing site and is therefore inherently unstable and the website frequently is unavailable. It is therefore imperative that you notify the Office of Sponsored Programs as early as possible in the application process that you intend to submit the proposal via grants.gov.
