Funding Opportunities

Using InfoEd Databases to Find Funding Opportunities

SPINPlus contains a web based collection of software modules that bundles SPIN, SMARTS, and GENIUS. These modules provide Boise State University faculty, staff, and graduate research assistants with one-stop availability to funding opportunity information, custom formatted vitae, and potential collaborators worldwide. In order to setup SMARTS or GENIUS it is necessary to create a PROFILE. To setup a profile see below.

SPINPlus (SPIN – GENIUS - SMARTS)

What is SPIN?

The SPIN / Find Funding module allows you to perform customized searches for funding opportunities at government and corporate agencies and foundations around the world.

What is GENIUS?

GENIUS gives you the option to make your profile available to potential collaborators worldwide. Also, the GENIUS / CV database search feature allows you to locate potential collaborators from profiles at institutions worldwide, as well as right here at Boise State University. To setup a profile see below.

What is SMARTS?

SMARTS is the link between your profile, keywords, and filtering criteria, and SPIN funding opportunities which enables the system to automatically generate e-mails on a daily basis as new funding opportunities become available which match your criteria. Each funding opportunity alert includes links to InfoEd’s detailed program summary and the sponsor’s website. To setup a profile see below.

About MY PROFILE

SPINPlus provides a section called MY PROFILE that allows you to enter personal data which will be integrated into various other InfoEd modules. Specific profile information coupled with keywords and filtering criteria that reflect your research, instruction, and/or public service interests, allows you to receive e-mail alerts of new funding opportunities which match your criteria on a daily basis via InfoEd SMARTS.

The MY PROFILE section also allows faculty at Boise State University and other institutions worldwide to access your research interests for collaborative assessment, making your information available to thousands of researchers worldwide. Additionally, your one-time data entry can auto-populate multiple personal, customizable curriculum vita (CV).
