Idaho Environmental and Health Sciences

Still in the conceptual stage, this science-oriented series will focus on noteworthy phenomena and challenging issues of special interest to Idahoans. Features such as the Gem state’s remarkable aquifer (water quality and water use issues), its Snake River Birds of Prey National Conservation Area (world-renowned for species preservation efforts), Primitive Areas (focus of environmental, ecological, and land-use planning concerns), animal and plant preservation and eradication policies and proposals for falcons, wolves, cheatgrass, mussels—in these instances Idaho provides notable case study possibilities: observations, analyses and recommendations with world-wide relevance. Likewise, as our population grows and matures, health care issues and concerns will become even more deserving of study and solutions.
