Casee Hogg
Undergraduate student
Student Casee Hogg credits dance with helping turn her life around. She is the recipient of an Idaho Dance Theatre full-tuition scholarship to Boise State. The scholarship is awarded to a full-time student of high academic standing who is also an IDT company member.
Several years ago, Hogg was a new transfer student searching for direction when she enrolled in an advanced ballet technique class at Boise State. With the encouragement of Theatre Arts professor Marla Hansen, Hogg got serious, kept her grades up, and got involved in all the dance activities and performances available through the department.
Two years ago, she auditioned for IDT, a professional company in-residence at Boise State, and was accepted.
Hogg says Professor Hansen played a pivotal role in providing the support and encouragement to help her believe in herself and pursue her dreams. A psychology major, Hogg carries a full academic load plus dances in classes and rehearses 25-40 hours a week. She performs in IDT’s Educational Outreach show brought to elementary schools and is part of all of the IDT main stage performances in the Special Events Center this year.
Professor Hansen notes that Hogg is highly dedicated to her art and her education, and is a phenomenal dancer.
“Casee is making a positive difference in the world for all the kids, audience members, friends and co-workers she touches,” Professor Hansen says.
